Winifred Olivia Stier, 83, homemaker and center of her family, died at 1:15 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, at St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John R. Stier, who died February 27, 2005; her parents, William Thomas and Clara Margaret Wolfe Nicholson; and three brothers, Joe Nicholson, Bill Nicholson, and Lee Nicholson.

Survivors include five children, John Stier of Henderson, Kentucky, Marsha Duncan and her husband, Cletis, of Henderson, Kentucky, Marie Cavanah and her husband, Jay, of Henderson, Kentucky, Theresa Brown of Lexington, Kentucky, and Kent Stier and his wife, Joy, of Atlanta, Georgia; ten grandchildren, Michael Stier, Jared Stier, Nicholas Duncan, Rachel McBride, J.D. Cavanah, John Clay Cavanah, Andrew Brown, Amanda Brown, Alexander Stier, Aynsley Stier; and one great-grandson, John Richard Stier.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.  Father Anthony J. Shonis will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and until 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Monday by Deacon Richard Beaven.
