William Gordon Hicks, Jr., 99, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center.

Bill was born August 20, 1924, in Morganfield, Kentucky, to the late William G. and Viona Hicks.  He was a member of Airline Baptist Church.  Bill loved to travel by car and read.  He retired from Whirlpool as a pipe fitter and worked for MCI Plumbing as a plumber.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Agnes Cates Hicks; one daughter, Vicky Sawyer.; one sister, Elaine Ross; and one brother, Linville Hicks.

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Phillips (Jimmy); four grandchildren, Joey Sawyer, Melissa Nantz, Laura Phillips, and Sam Phillips; his son-in-law, Henry Sawyer; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  The Reverend Nathan Whisnant will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
