William L. "Bill" Hardy, 73, of Cairo, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018, at St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center surrounded by his loving family.

Bill farmed for more than 45 years and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was an extremely talented woodworker and handyman.  Bill was strong but gentle and an overall great man.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter "Buck" and Christine Hardy; one sister, Betty Evans; and one brother, Donald Hardy.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Jeanie; one daughter, Emery Neely and her daughter, Sayge Neely, of Cairo, Kentucky; one son, Jason Hardy of Evansville, Indiana, and his children, Jaisa Hardy and Jaxon Hardy; two sisters, Ruth Meredith of Reed, Kentucky, and Glenda Eldridge of Winsfield, Missouri; two brothers, George Hardy of Dixon, Kentucky, and Larry Hardy of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Dixie United Methodist Church.  The Reverend Chad Johnson will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.
