Obituary

William Owen Agnew, Sr., arrived on earth on January 5, 1927, to George and Roberta Agnew in Robards, Kentucky.  The Lord called him from his earthly home on February 6, 2021, while he was surrounded by family at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

William believed in the Lord and was baptized at an early age.  He was a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church.  William was a proud Army Veteran.  He provided his talents around the neighborhood by working at various businesses and factories and later retired from Gamco Products in Henderson, Kentucky.  He was great with his hands and spent time building and repairing things.

William loved music.  He wrote music and played his guitar with passion and heart.  To his family, he was a famous musician who had music published.  His fans knew him well for his songs "I'm So Mad I Can Bite a Nail in Two" and "Try to Find a New Way Out."  William enjoyed entertaining people and brought laughter and smiles to any room.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife whom he loved dearly, Rovanna Agnew; his daughter, Cynthia Johnson; his grandmother, Lucretia; and his siblings, Mary Lee, George, Rosetta, Larzetta, and Geneva.

William leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Jacqueline Robinson; one son, William Agnew, Jr. (LaQuesha); one sister, Lucille Whitlock; one brother, James Agnew; seven grandchildren, Jarrett Johnson (Loretta), Mario Johnson, Cassandra Raine-Francis (Gregory), Trandon Dickerson (Candy), Carlada Patterson (Shamario), Zakaria Agnew, and Zion Agnew; twelve great-grandchildren, Vanity, Kendall, Jarrett, Jr., Deanna, Demetreale, Denae, Jayda, Alivia, Hannah, Jazmyn, Greyson, and Sophia; three great-great-grandchildren; cousins; nephews and nieces; and friends.
