Travis Wade
Hess
Jan 24, 1987 — Mar 19, 2024
Henderson
Travis Wade Hess, born Saturday, January 24, 1987, to Keith and DeLania Hess, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the age of 37 from his hard battle from being poisoned by a lightsaber in battle while helping the jedi fight the good fight (as he first explained his angiosarcoma to his young daughter).
From the initial poisoning, Travis was bravely taken care of and sought after by his two beautiful, strong, courageous, and resilient girls – Gina, his wife and the love of his life, and Charlie Jean, his daughter whom he referred to as "Nuggy." His five years serving in the Army as a Patriot Missile Operator was well spent with Charlie Battery and his new family First Sergeant Hayward and his battle buddies. He was a biomedical engineer specializing in MRI, CT, and Ultra Sounds. Travis enjoyed technology and anything that brings us closer to the future. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing from a young age and became a master on the grill over the years. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and daughter, family, and friends. He was always with a smile on his face, and he was loved by everyone. Travis's theory was, "If you could be sad or happy, choose to be happy."
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Mable Ewing; his paternal grandfather, Charlie Hess; his uncles, Edward Ewing and Paul Wilson; his aunt, Susan Hess; and his wife's grandparents, Gene and Jeanette Renck and John Romanelli.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Gina Hess; his daughter, Charlie Jean "Nuggy" Hess; his parents, Keith and DeLania Hess of Henderson, Kentucky; three siblings, Damon Hess of Henderson, Kentucky, Ethan Hess (Sasha) of Henderson, Kentucky, Jenna Ray (Isaac) of Robards, Kentucky; his grandparents, Jack and Libby Richardson of Henderson, Kentucky; nieces and nephews, Sydni Hess, Asher Hess, Sophi Hess, and Millie Ray; his aunt, Sue Wilson; his mother-in-law, Cathy Romanelli-Renck; his father-in-law, Richard Renck (Anna) and their children, Nicolas Renck and Dawson Renck; his wife's grandmother, Trudy Romanelli; his sisters-in-law, Sherri Renck (Gus) and Cassandra Renck; and cousins.
Per Travis's request, there will be no public service.
