Obituary

Sarah Helen "Mimi" Keith, 95, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Redbanks Nursing Home.

Sarah was born on February 12, 1929, in Graham, Kentucky, to the late Owen and Myrtle Hawkins.  Sarah was a longtime member of  Henderson General Baptist Church.  She loved to cook, especially for family and friends.  Some of her favorites dishes among the family were chocolate pie, fudge, banana pudding, and mashed potatoes.  Sarah also loved to socialize, never missing a chance to host a family holiday at her home.  She loved for everyone to gather and just be together.  Sarah could be seen visiting with friends at the gathering place and even striking up a game of bingo or winning a cornhole tournament.

It was her infinite love for her family that carried her through until her final days.  Sarah may be gone from this Earth but her soul remains in our hearts forever.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Keith; and three siblings, Lucille Rose Basham, Anna Maude Wice, and Henry Owen Hawkins, Jr.

Survivors include her two children, Karen Hargis (Tom) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Mike Keith (Linda) of Henderson, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Kirk Keith (Katie Beauchamp), Kacey Hargis, Hillary Bonistalli (Garrett), and Lance Keith (Emily); two step-granddaughters, Audrey Loffler (Joey) and Lara Gosselin; nine great-grandchildren; ten step-greatgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at noon Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Christi Henderson will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to The Gathering Place, 1817 North Elm Street, Henderson, Kentucky 42420, or Henderson General Baptist Church.
