Sandra "Sandie" Jolene Phelps, 79, of Zion, went to be with the Lord at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

She was born in Salida, Colorado, to the late Coach and Arlene Gray.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Ray Phelps, who died in 2016.

She was a member of Shepherd's Chapel Christian Church.  Sandie was secretary for Henderson County Extension Office, past-president of Hebbardsville Elementary School PTA, and enjoyed outdoor activities with her children.  She was a water aerobics instructor at YMCA, an avid bowler, and an active member of Henderson County Homemaker's Club.  Sandie also organized care packages for Desert Shield/Storm.

Survivors include one daughter, Teresa "Terrie" Lynn Myers and her husband, Elliot, of Henderson; three sons, Michael "Mike" Wayne Phelps and his wife, Anne, of Westerly, Rhode Island, Gary Ray Phelps and his wife, Denise, of Zion, and Matthew "Matt" Allen Phelps and his wife, Penny, of Evansville; one brother, Bill Gray and his wife, Gay, of Colorado; one sister, Karen Reed and her husband, Bobby, of New Mexico; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  The Reverend David Clifford will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the funeral home.
