Robert E. Burton, 89, of Henderson, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

He was born on September 21, 1936, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late Wallace and Celestie Foster Burton.  On November 11, 1956, Robert married Madge O. Patrick.  He worked in maintenance at the former Gamco in Henderson.  Robert was a 49-year member of Henderson Masonic Lodge No. 958.  For the past six months, he resided at Redbanks Nursing Home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Madge O. Burton; three siblings, Betty Ann Moore, Larry Thomas Burton, and infant brother.

Survivors include three children, Tim Burton of Spottsville, Kentucky, Benita Jennings and her husband, David, of Henderson, Kentucky, and Linda Guill of Henderson, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; one step-greatgrandchild; one great-greatgrandchild; nephews and nieces.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2026, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Brother Paul Davis will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where a Masonic Service will be held at 12:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Tim Burton, David Jennings, E.J. Jennings, Sam Guill, Jed Guill, and Jeremy Craddock.
