Robert Franklin "Bob" East, 93, of Henderson, Kentucky, went home to be with his wife of 73 year on Thursday, March 22, 2018.

Bob was born and raised in Caldwell County, Kentucky, to Elgon and Susie East on August 15, 1924.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was also a World War II U.S. Army veteran and worked as a tool and die maker at Gibbs Die Casting until he retired in 1991.  He and his wife loved to travel and raise a garden.  Bob loved spending time with his family.  He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Dorothy East, who died August 10, 2015; one son, Rabert "Sonny" East; his parents, Elgon and Susie East; and two brothers, R.C. East and Roy Weldon East.

Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Douglas and her husband, Doug, of Owensboro, Kentucky; one son, Roy East and his wife, Becky, of Henderson, Kentucky; two sisters, Loretta Gore and her husband, John, and Mary Ann Fanok and her husband, Walter, both Evansville, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Tammy Head, Rocky East, Ronnie East, Roger East, Kim Horner, Tracy Hallmark, Nikki Rice, Devon Douglas, and Nancy Conder; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.
