Rex Hampton Haile, age 93, of Henderson, Kentucky, originally from Christian County, Kentucky, passed away at 4:04 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, Kentucky.

Rex was preceded in death by his wife, Gath (February 2008), whom he met in the Air Force and married on Valentine's Day.  He was also preceded in death by his son, David (September 2000).

Rex grew up as part of a farm family in Christian County (Herndon) with six siblings (Exie, Helen, Inez, Edwin, Douglas, and Bobby).  He graduated from the University of Kentucky School of Pharmacy and served as a pharmacist in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.     Rex began his working career in Christian County before moving to Henderson and co-owning the "Clinic (Family) Pharmacy" for over 30 years.

Rex was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and served as an usher for many years.  He was an avid UK fan and loved sports of any kind, especially basketball, tennis, and golf.  He loved country music, especially Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Charlie Pride.  He was very witty and funny as well as the most humble and kind person anyone could ever hope to meet.
