Obituary

The Reverend Philip A. Walker, a devoted servant of God, peacefully departed this world on February 5, 2026, at age 73.

Born on Easter Sunday, April 13, 1952, Philip leaves behind a legacy of faithful service and devoted ministry.

Born and raised in Henderson, Kentucky, he answered his calling to the ministry, completing his studies at Mid-America Theological Seminary, where his passion for young hearts and spreading God's word was firmly established.  Philip dedicated his life to youth ministry and community evangelism, believing deeply that faith flourished through personal connection and genuine care.  His gentle guidance helped shape generations of young people, while his compassionate community outreach brought hope to families across the region.

When not ministering to others, Philip found joy in creating with his hands.  His woodworking and metalcraft projects were expressions of the same careful attention and love he brought to his pastoral work.

A dedicated preacher and scholar, Philip touched lives with his kind heart and compassionate spirit.  His tireless efforts in spreading the message of hope and redemption will forever be remembered by those that knew him.  In the wake of his passing, Philip's family and friends are united in grief, yet uplifted by memories of his enduring spirit.  His presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who crossed his path.  May Philip rest in eternal peace, knowing that his work on Earth has left an indelible mark on the hearts and souls of all who knew him.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard E. and Mary F. Walker (née Stone).

Philip is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl L. Walker (née Taylor), who stood by his side through all of life's trials and triumphs.  He is also survived by his brothers, the Reverend Roger D. Walker and Randal E. Walker, MD.
