Ralph E. Mitchell, Sr., 67, of Reed, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center surrounded by his family.

He was a member of the Henderson Elks Lodge No. 206, NRA, and Ducks Unlimited.  He attended St. Augustine Catholic Church in Reed, Kentucky.  Ralph was a self-employed homebuilder.  He was an avid gardener and loved NASCAR and horse racing.  He was known for his barbequing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anna Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Deborah Nunn Mitchell; his daughters, April McLevain and her husband, Brad, and Wendy Daugherty and her husband, Aaron, both of Henderson, Kentucky;  his son, Ralph Mitchell, Jr., and his wife, Amy, of Reed, Kentucky; three sisters, Dee Anna Booker of Reed, Kentucky, Mary Martin Cooper (Mike) of Henderson, Kentucky, and Laura Bea Buddendeck (Karen) of Erlanger, Kentucky; two brothers, Robert "Bob" F. Mitchell of Baskett, Kentucky, and Jay A. Mitchell (Yelonda) of Henderson, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Cydnee McLevain, Morgan Black, Brayden and Madison Daugherty, Alexandria, Lauren, and Madilynn Mitchell; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Father Fidelis Levri will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brayden Daugherty, Johnny Bailey, Dickie Johnson, Rick Harris, Larry "Boot" Alexander, Stan Williams, Jack Pruden, and Mark Fehr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Buley, Phillip Meredith, Glenn Miller, Cary Greenwell, Roger Harris, Benji Larue, Darrell Spainhoward, and Clarence "Tootie" Swearer.
