Ora Lou Moss Reid, 77, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023.

She was born on June 30, 1946, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late Elbridge Moss and Hazel Abell Moss.  Ora Lou attended Henderson City High School.  She was an avid Bridge player and UK and Henderson County sports fan.  She loved crossword puzzles, swimming, cooking, traveling to Florida, and her pets.  For many years, Ora Lou worked as a teacher aide at Holy Name School.  She was a mother to her neighborhood with her door always open to anyone and had many lifelong friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tracey Moss, and one great-grandson, P.J. Smith.

Survivors include her three sons, Robert Reid and his wife, Beverly, of Henderson, Kentucky, David Reid and his wife, Aleta, of Powhatan, Virginia, and Jamie Reid and his wife, April, of Henderson, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Andy Smith, Allison Reid Spencer and her husband, Lucas, Audie Reid, Andrew Reid, Rachel Reid, Austin Reid, Will Reid, and John Reid; two great-grandchildren, Keegan Smith and Aiden Smith; and her longtime companion, Roscoe Sneed, who faithfully cared for her and to whom her family is extremely grateful.

Throughout the years, Ora Lou cared for her neighborhood.  In her later years, her neighbors have cared for her.  The family would like to thank James and Vicky Biggers and Sue Estes.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Chris Trainer will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023, and until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
