Ona L. Vanover, of Henderson, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord at 10:01 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017, at St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center.

She was a housewife and 60-year member of Airline Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher.  She loved to read, make wedding cakes, cook for her family, and paint.  She was an award-winning artist with many paintings on canvas, rocks, and driftwood.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James L. (Robert) Vanover; her father, Arthur Daniel Gobin; her mother and stepfather, Fannie and Henry Brandow; two sisters, Geraldine Gobin Mitchell and Shirley Gobin Gregg; one foster sister, Joanna DeSpain; two infant brothers, Ernest Earl Gobin and Robert Arthur Gobin; one infant son, Robert Louis Vanover; and one infant daughter, Roxanna Vanover.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Stinson and grandsons, Mark Stinson and Matt Stinson of Henderson; one son, James Mark Vanover and his wife, Sarah (Patty) Vanover and grandson, Daryll Vanover and his wife, Christine, of Duluth, Georgia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  The Reverend Nathan Whisnant will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017, and after 9 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017, at the funeral home.
