Murray (Murr) Evans Snyder, age 55, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017, at his home.

He was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Henderson.

He was born in Euclid, Ohio, on October 10, 1961, the son of Robert A. and Elizabeth (Betty) M. Snyder, both deceased.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Randolph A. Snyder in 2005.

Murr moved to Henderson at age 10 when his family relocated from the Cleveland area due to his father's transfer to the Eaton Axle Plant as Plant Manager.  He attended college at Washington University in St. Louis and graduated in 1983 with a degree in accounting.

After working in Henderson for Peabody Coal Co. as an accountant, he left to pursue a career in property management, eventually moving to Florida where he lived and worked for many years.  He also made several close friends during this time.  A few years ago he moved nearer to Henderson to stay in closer contact with Mom, and in her last years, he lived at home with her to provide care after she suffered a stroke.  No one could have provided care for Mom better than Murr.  During this time, he found joy in reading, swimming, and discussing politics with family and friends.  He had planned to resume his own life after Mom's passing last summer, but tragically it was shortened by cancer.

Survivors include his brother, Eric Snyder (wife Antonia) of Hudson, Ohio; his sister Laurel Snyder of Naperville, Illinois; two nephews, Robert and Carl Snyder, both of Hudson, Ohio; and many cousins.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017, at The Presbyterian Church of Henderson, 100 South Main Street, Henderson, Kentucky 42420.  The Reverend Eric Hoey will officiate.  Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery, 1678 SOM Center Road, Mayfield Heights, Ohio 44124, after a graveside service on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 10 a.m.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, 604 Center Street, Henderson, Kentucky 42420.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to University of Kentucky Medical Center Department of Neurosurgery, Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital, both in Lexington, Kentucky, or Methodist Hospital Foundation in Henderson, Kentucky.
