Mildred Sights Cates, 94, of Memphis, Tennessee, formerly of Cairo, Kentucky, died Thursday, August 11, 2016, at her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William George Cates, Sr., who died August 28, 1992, and her parents, Floyd and Nancy Sights.

Survivors include one daughter, Sara Lawson of Memphis, Tennessee; one son, William G. Cates, Jr., of Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren, William Shane Cates, Jennifer Lee Cates, Brenda Lawson, and Cindy Basham; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Burial will be in Corydon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
