Charles Michael "Mike" Moore, 68, Henderson, Kentucky, died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, August 4, 2024, under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.

He was born in Henderson on April 24, 1956, to the late Kenneth Charles and Gartha Dean Moore.  Mike was a 1974 graduate of Henderson City High School.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed in 2007.

He retired from The Gleaner, where he started at 10 years old as a paper boy and later went on to work for 42 years in the newspaper's mail room, composing room, and newsroom.  Mike was an avid golfer, knowing every inch of the fairways, woods, and greens at the Audubon State Park golf course.  He also enjoyed University of Kentucky basketball, traveling, visiting the kids and grandkids, reading, and playing disc golf.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Kathleen R. Moore of Henderson, Kentucky; two sons, Jason Moore of Henderson County, Kentucky, and Andrew Moore of Tazewell, Virginia; one daughter, Stefanie Cordle of Dublin, Virginia; two sisters, Melinda Lane of Henderson, Kentucky, and Sherri Ramsey of Reed, Kentucky; four grandchildren; and one nephew.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 North Elm Street, Henderson, Kentucky 42420.  The Reverend Michael Liese and the Reverend Mark Moog will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Jason Moore, Andrew Moore, Kaisyn Asbury, Greg Dennis, Paul Kohlman, and Jeremy Kohlman.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church or St. Anthony's Hospice.
