Melvin "Mel" Darrell Dickson, III, 56, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

Mel enjoyed hunting, fishing, family vacations to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.  He worked at CountryMark in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, for 21 years.

Survivors include three children, Cailan Dickson, Alyssa Dickson, and Katie Dickson, all of Henderson, Kentucky; his father, Melvin Darrell Dickson, Jr. of Henderson, Kentucky; his fiancé, Lynn Swanson of Henderson, Kentucky; two sisters, Jo Elaine Hanville and her husband, Scott, of Henderson, Kentucky, and Christy Chappell and her husband, William, of Cullman, Alabama; his father-in-law, Larry Settle of Henderson, Kentucky; and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church.  The Reverend David Clifford will officiate.

Contributions in Mel's memory can be made to a favorite charity.
