Mary Joe Wilson, 89, of Henderson, Kentucky, made her tee time with the Lord at 3:36 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Lucy King Smith Hospice.

She was a member of Airline Baptist Church.  Jo loved sports, especially golf and softball.  She enjoyed being in the band at Barrett High School.  Jo served as secretary for several Henderson mayors.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William O. "Soap" Wilson; her parents, Bettye Mae Royster and Donald Royster; her brother, D.E. Royster; and her sister, Quela Royster.

Survivors of her beloved family include her son, Soap Wilson, Jr., and wife Sandy, and her daughters, Patti Reed and husband, Tim, and Penny Griffin and her husband, Kim; six grandchildren, Damion Wilson and his wife, Crystal, Scott Reed and his wife, Susan, Rendi Reed, Tiffani Deno, Nathan Griffin of Nashville, Tennessee, and Brandy Brown and her husband, Brian, of Newburgh, Indiana; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and extended family members, Barbara Carter, James Suggs, and Heather Coin.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  The Reverend Nathan Whisnant will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Damion Wilson, Scott Reed, Nathan Griffin, Tim Reed, Trent Haner, and Chace Deno.

There will be a family golf outing to honor Soap and Jo on Monday morning.
