Mary L. Smith, 85, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at Methodist Hospital.

She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, where she had served as a lector, cantor, and on the Bereavement Committee.  She also was active with the Holy Name Card Club and Senior Luncheon.  Mary was active in the Central Homemakers Club where she had served as president.  Along with her husband, Ed, she owned and operated E & K Fasteners for more than 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Edward G. Smith, who died June 7, 2000; and her sister, Betty Sollman of Huntingburg, Indiana.

Survivors include three sons, Michael E. Smith of Henderson, Kentucky, Joseph B. Smith and his wife, Karin, of Newburgh, Indiana, and David L. Smith and his wife, Melissa, of Henderson, Kentucky; one sister, Ginny Schroeder of Huntingburg, Indiana; four grandchildren, Ashlyn Smith, Lauryn Smith, Mason Smith, and Meagan Smith; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.  Father Anthony J. Shonis will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and until 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Monday.
