Martha Griffin Busby, 92, a lifelong resident of Robards, Kentucky, passed away peacefully, at 1:25 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2017.

She was a member of Robards United Methodist Church.  Martha retired at age 73 as postmaster at Robards Post Office where she had worked for 42 years.  She was instrumental in forming the Robards Homecoming Celebration which continued many years under her leadership.  She enjoyed many wonderful moments with her dog, Buzzy, including many annual trips to South Dakota to pheasant hunt.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Bernard Hewlett Busby, who died April 21, 2011; her parents, Charles Allison and Eula Dale Griffin; two brothers, Bert Griffin and Bill Griffin; and two sisters, Mary Ruth Griffin and Ruby King.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Merrick of Prospect, Kentucky, and Cecilia Henderson and her husband, Dave, of Knoxville, Tennessee; one sister, June Sneddon of Robards, Kentucky; two half-brothers, John Griffin and Danny Griffin, both of Henderson, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Amy Merrick and Megan Ramos-Merrick and her spouse, Christy Ramos-Merrick, both of Louisville, Kentucky, and David Stuart Henderson of Knoxville, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  The Reverend Rick Nollmann will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Trent Fridy, Ronnie Ashby, Amy Merrick, Megan and Christy Ramos-Merrick, T.J. Fridy, Luis Cobos, and Dave Henderson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Milton Ashby, Jacob Fridy, Greg Fridy, and David S. Henderson.
