Mark David
Berry
May 17, 1958 — Jun 29, 2022
HENDERSON
Mark David Berry, 64, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Mark had been battling significant health issues in recent years including a fierce battle with multiple sclerosis.
Mark was born on May 17, 1958, in Evansville, Indiana, to parents Roy D. and Peggy Ann Berry. He was one of four children. Mark attended Henderson County High School and Henderson Community College where he found his love for music and photography. He was a lifelong member of the former Immanuel Baptist Temple. Mark turned that love into part of his early career and always had a connection to music throughout his life. Mark was part of the drum line of the high school marching band. He also enjoyed being part of a regional band, City Lights, that he managed for years and with which he loved playing the drums. Mark continued this connection with music when he worked for Aiken Management, honing his concert photography skills with Aiken before opening his own successful photography studio, Berry Photography. Many in his community trusted Mark to capture special moments in their lives through wedding photography, senior photos, and family portraiture.
In 1987, Mark "met" Laurie at Beth Moon and John Knight's wedding. Though their families lived across the street from each other, it took Beth and John's wedding to bring them together. In 1991, they married and were joined by their beloved daughter, Kathryn Ann, in 1998. Mark loved to travel (especially to the ocean) and experience live music. Some of his favorite times were spent at concerts, where he continued to use those photography skills, and connecting with band members. His love of both music and photography never waned throughout his lifetime.
Mark was preceded in death his father, Roy D. Berry.
Mark is survived by his wife, Laura Anne Moon Berry; his daughter, Kathryn Ann Berry; his mother, Peggy Ann Berry; his sister, Barbara Durham; his brother, Michael Berry; and nieces and nephews.
