Margaret Evelyn Mills Vowels, 91, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away at 4:26 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center.

She was a devout Catholic and a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.  Margaret was born August 11, 1927, in Union County, Kentucky, to Louis and Mary Beulah Mills.  She was a homemaker and had worked at Methodist Hospital for 15 years as a CNA.  Margaret enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Vowels; two sons, Donald Vowels and Jerome Vowels; one sister, Mary Frances Strehle; and one brother, James Frederick Mills.

Survivors include four children, Daniel L. Vowels of Henderson, Kentucky, James B. Vowels and Dennis R. Vowels, both of Evansville, Indiana, and Carolyn Marie Beauchamp of Martin, Tennessee; one sister, Sister Elizabeth Jean Mills of Nashville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Kyle Beauchamp and Greg Beauchamp; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Beauchamp; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at noon Friday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.  Father Larry McBride will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Uniontown, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and until 11 a.m. Friday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
