Obituary

Marcie Ann Cobb Haynes, 52, of Spottsville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at her home.

Marcie was the only daughter of Maurice and Shirley Cobb.  She was born November 5, 1970, in Henderson, Kentucky.  Growing up, Marcie spent many summers with her grandparents, Elvie and Gladys Cobb, at Ellis Park and their farm in the country.  It was during this time that her love for animals grew.  Marcie had never met an animal that she did not immediately fall in love with.  She adored horses and the many dogs and cats and her raccoon Roscoe that she had as a child and later as an adult.  As a teenager, Marcie's home on Water Street was the place to be.  Marcie had an infectious smile and laugh that positively lit up a room.

Marcie graduated from Henderson County High School in 1988 and later graduated from Henderson Community College where she obtained her degree in medical assisting.  Marcie had worked as a teenager with her parents at MWC Oil Company and later Casey's Pawn Shop, Casey's Rent to Own, and Casey's Check Advance with her Granddaddy Elvie and Mary Alice Casey Cobb.  Later, her greatest joy was being a Gi-Gi to her grandson, Brayden.

Marcie had attended First Christian Church in Henderson with her mother, children, and grandchildren.

Marcie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Waldo and Marie Cornelius, Gladys Cobb, and Elvie and Mary Alice Casey Cobb.

Survivors include her fiancé, Bruce Crawford of Spottsville, Kentucky; her children, Tyler M. Haynes (Brayden), Maddie A. Haynes (Wade), both of Henderson, Kentucky; grandson, Brayden Dunn of Henderson, Kentucky; parents, Shirley Cobb of Henderson, Kentucky; Maurice and Cindy Cobb of Eddyville, Kentucky; aunts and uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, at First Christian Church.  The Reverend David L. Clifford will officiate.  Private burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be Friday, April 21, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and until service time Saturday at First Christian Church in Henderson, Kentucky.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to New Hope Animal Rescue Center or the Warrick County Humane Society in Marcie's honor.
