Kenneth Johnson, of Henderson, Kentucky, (most recently residing in Hanson, Kentucky), died Sunday, January 15, 2017, at the age of 79.

He was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.  Kenneth enjoyed traveling, music, and reading the bible out loud to his friends at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson. And most of all, he enjoyed a good meal.

He was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) Johnson; two brothers, Jimmy and Lonnie Johnson; and one sister, Anna Burns.

Survivors include his mother, Virginia (Carnal) Johnson of Henderson, Kentucky; one sister, Cynthia Houts and her husband, Ven, of Kirkwood, (St. Louis) Missouri.  He was an uncle, great-uncle, and cousin to many.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, Kentucky, for their loving and outstanding care since 2010 of "their big teddy bear."

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, 604 Center Street, Henderson, Kentucky 42420.  The Reverend Nathan Whisnant will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery with full military rites performed by American Legion Worsham Post No. 40.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
