Juania June
(Baxter) Ball
Apr 15, 1934 — Mar 29, 2022
Henderson
Juania June (Baxter) Ball joined our father in Heaven on March 29, 2022, at Deaconess Henderson Hospital.
Juania was born on April 15, 1934, in Hays, Kansas, to Kelvin and Juanita (Ruff) Baxter. She had two siblings, Karen and Dennis, who shared her love of growing up on a Kansas farm. Juania spent her formative years in the towns of Russell and Gorham, Kansas, before attending Brown Mackie Business School. She then returned to Russell to marry Donald Ray Ball and worked for Bob Dole (later U.S. Senator) at his newly opened law practice. Don's career in the oil industry carried them to several states that included Kansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Texas, and lastly for Juania a return back to Kentucky.
Juania loved her nearly forty year stint in Texas, living in Dallas, Pecan Plantation, and in Granbury. She made strong friendships in Pecan and Granbury and felt that it was her "home". It was here that Don served as President of the Pecan Association and Juania welcomed newcomers to the gated community of around five thousand residents. Juania was an integral part of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Toast Mistress, Pecan Woman's Club, Woman's Wednesday Club, and Acton Methodist Church. Even after she left there to live in Henderson close to her daughter, she maintained her friendships with her Texas friends and talked to them nearly every day.
Juania will forever be remembered for her exceptional kindness, generosity, charm, beauty, compassion, humor and wanting to always care and comfort others. She was a beautiful person, both inside and out, greeted everyone with a smile and a hug, and made everyone feel at home in her presence. Throughout her life, she made countless friends and she kept those friends throughout the years. Juania made time for everyone in her life, and she constantly told her family and friends how incredibly important they were to her. In her last years, Juania made many new friends, both residents and staff, at her Colonial Senior living residence on Airline Road. Her love of watching most all sports led to her organizing many watch parties and telephone calls with friends to discuss the outcomes.
Juania's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family or talking with them by phone. Her family was very close and she was always so proud that they all talked to each other constantly and cared for each other deeply. She would often say how proud she was of that, and her family always told her it was because she "made us that way."
Juania was preceded in death by her husband Don, parents, and one grandchild, Michelle.
Juania is survived by her daughters, Becky Summers (Pete) of Henderson, Kentucky, Cynthia Hundorfean (Rick) of Mentor, Ohio, and Dee Ann Creach (Mike) of Tomball, Texas; her sister, Karen of Placentia, California; her brother, Dennis of Russell, Kansas; her granddaughters, Tobi, Kristie, Leslie, Erica, Alayna, Jenna; and her grandsons, Richard and Zachary; great grandchildren, Kelvin, Chaz, Noah M., Alex, Eden, Owen, Max, Gray, Noah K., Sammie, Violet, and Brooks; along with many loving nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal service. The family will all come together this summer to celebrate the life of both of their parents, Juania and Don. Juania would cherish this gathering as she loved nothing more than her family being together.
