Joyce Priest Davis, 88, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away at 6:33 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center.

She was an active member of Zion Baptist Church.  Joyce was a graduate of Murray State University where she met her late husband, Eddie.  She taught for more than 50 years in the Henderson County School System.  Joyce first taught Home Economics at Henderson County High School and continued to substitute after retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward Crafton Davis, who died July 28, 2004; and her parents, Pruitt and Mary Frances Gibson Priest.

Survivors include two daughters, Chanda Liebo of Henderson, Kentucky, and Julie Peyton and her husband, Jeff, of Alpharetta, Georgia; one son, Scott Davis and his wife, Pam of Henderson, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Elliott Short, Ryan Short, Laura Peyton Reonas, Lindsey Peyton Beemer, Betsy Davis, Evan Davis, and Caroline Davis; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Dr. Dan Garland will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Elliott Short, Ryan Short, Don Powers, David Powers, Darrin Powers, and Terry Albright.
