John Kevin Edwards, 56, of Henderson, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 30, 2022, at his home.

He was born in Henderson, Kentucky, on December 25, 1965, to Judy Hargis Edwards Scott and the late Richard Walter Edwards, Jr.  John was a graduate of Holy Name Catholic School and a 1983 graduate of Henderson County High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran.  For many years, John worked in construction and had a talent for building and fixing anything.  He also worked with his brother, David, doing property appraisals.  John had a strong faith and was passionate about the Lord.  He was an excellent cook and could make any dish taste great.  He enjoyed sports, was an avid UK basketball and Kansas City Chiefs football fan, and had a green thumb.  Family was very important to him and his family will miss his frequent phone calls.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Walter Edwards, Jr.

Survivors include his son, John Kevin Edwards, II, and his wife, Chloe, and their children, Dash and Jack Edwards of Blue Springs, Missouri; his mother and stepfather, Judy and Ray Scott of Henderson, Kentucky; two siblings, David Edwards and his wife, Elaine, of Lees Summit, Missouri, and Michelle Green and her husband, Terry, of Henderson, Kentucky; four nephews, Ryan Edwards, Alex Edwards and his wife, Melissa, Brandon Bassett, and Logan Green and his wife, Lauren; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Father Larry McBride and John's uncle, Gene Hargis, will officiate.  Inurnment will be in St. Louis Cemetery Columbarium.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
