Jo Anne Melton Wells, 87, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024, at Premier Healthcare of New Harmony in New Harmony, Indiana, with her loving and devoted husband at her side.

She was born March 30, 1937, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late Joe and Lela Melton.  For most of her life, Jo Anne was a secretary having worked at CBS Dress Factory and Demand Marketing both in Henderson, Kentucky.  She was an accomplished seamstress and artist and an avid golfer.  Most of all, Jo Anne was a loving wife and mother.

In addition to her parents, Jo Anne was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Clem Brown; three brothers, Martin Melton, Ronnie Melton, and Kenneth Melton; and four sisters, Marietta Davis, Jean Pagragan, Juanita Kizer, and Janice Sutton.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Darrell; her twin brother, Jerry Melton of Henderson, Kentucky; many nieces and nephews; and many supportive friends and neighbors.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Brother Gary Shoulders will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
