Jimmie Calloway Evans, 79, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, at her home.

She was born in Tampa, Florida, on July 22, 1943.  Jimmie married Vernon Evans on January 7, 1989, and they were married for 33 years.  She worked for and retired from Union Pacific Railroad in St. Louis, Missouri.  Jimmie was a minister and a Unity Licensed Teacher and served as a youth director for Unity Church in St. Louis, Missouri, and in Evansville, Indiana.

She loved to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers and NFL Football.  Jimmie was a giving and caring person who donated to many charities.  She was a friend, wife, mother, and grandmother.  Jimmie touched the hearts and lives of many people and was quick to give advice and share her wisdom.  She glowed with love and had a heart of gold.

She loved to sit on her couch surrounded by her animals and chat with anyone.  Her granddaughter loved talking to her on the phone and she loved talking to her granddaughter.  She was proud of her family.  Jimmie was loved and will be missed.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon; two sons, George Joseph Evans and Vernon James Evans and his wife, Katrina Elmore Evans; four grandchildren, Madilene Cecilia Elmore Evans, Isabella Rachael Danks, Alexander James Danks, and Christopher Orion Danks; and her sister/cousin, Judy Baetz.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2023, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Jimmie's good friend, Angela Church, will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
