Jerry Hatley, 81, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Deaconess Henderson Hospital.

He was born August 11, 1941, in Sturgis, Kentucky, to the late James Vernon and Thelma Lee Marvel Hatley.  Jerry was a butcher most of his life and later he owned and operated Metzger's Tavern for many years.  He was a family man, an avid sports fan especially UK basketball and Chicago Cubs baseball, and loved hunting and fishing.  Jerry was a very good athlete and a member of the 1959 Henderson City High Football State Champions and Henderson County Hall of Fame.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Emily Green; and three stepdaughters, Barbara Hall, Kathy Nelson, and Mary Elizabeth Hardrick.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Loretta "PeeWee" Hatley; four children, Becky Hutcheson, Fay Lee and her companion, Steve Turner, and David Green and his companion, Angele Green, all of Henderson, Kentucky, and Jesse Green and his wife, Caren, of Houston, Texas; three siblings, Jimmy Hatley of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Donna Lewis of Smith Mills, Kentucky, and Randy Hatley of Henderson, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2022, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  The Reverend Ernie Lingerfelt will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2022, and until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Michael Hutcheson, Frank Cavanah, John Nelson, David Green, Jessica Lingerfelt, and Jennifer Hall.
