Obituary

Jerry W. Goldsberry, age 61, of Henderson, Kentucky, was born on February 10, 1959, and met Jesus, his Lord and Savior, face to face at 4:17 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital surrounded by his family.

Jerry was the owner of Sanifaction, a sanitizing company, and was an active member of Airline Baptist Church.  He lived life out loud to the fullest and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family.  He was a dedicated husband, father, and papaw.  Jerry found joy in being the life of the party and making sure others felt included.  What we will remember most about Jerry is that he created a legacy on how to love unconditionally no matter the bloodline he had with a person.  Everyone was family to him.  One thing is certain, Jerry never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Wayne Goldsberry; his mother, Delores Jean Blauser; a sister, Brenda Jean Stefanski; a brother, Charles "Chuck" Croft; and a daughter, Angela Lynn Woodard.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 27 years, Karen Young McKenzie Goldsberry; one daughter, Megan Goldsberry (fiancé Buddy Gogel) of Henderson, Kentucky; five sons, Jeremy Goldsberry (fiancé Erin Keller) of Elberfeld, Indiana, John McKenzie II (Stacie) of Henderson, Kentucky, Matthew McKenzie (Hilary) of Alamo, Tennessee, Timothy McKenzie (Judella) of Henderson, Kentucky, and Mark McKenzie (Brandy) of Henderson, Kentucky; five brothers, David Goldsberry (Cheri) of Robards, Kentucky, Gary Goldsberry (Annette) of Spottsville, Kentucky, Billy Goldsberry (Samone) of Spottsville, Kentucky, Chester "Chet" Goldsberry of Evansville, Indiana, and Robert Goldsberry (Tammy) of Odon, Indiana; and one sister, Nancie French (Thomas) of Winter Haven, Florida; 16 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Jerry's life, friends and family are invited for visitation from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 9 th , 2021, at Airline Baptist Church, where a memorial service will immediately follow the visitation.  Dr. Bill Patterson, the Reverend Nathan Whisnant, and the Reverend Craig Stone will officiate.
