Jason
Perry
Oct 3, 1974 — Jul 27, 2026
Henderson
Jason Perry, beloved husband, father, son, businessman, and friend, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Above all else, Jason was devoted to his family. He was the loving husband of April Perry, his high school sweetheart. The two met when they were just 15 years old and built a beautiful life together, sharing 27 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Their love story was one that inspired those around them, and Jason absolutely adored April.
Jason was also a proud father to Jake Perry and Abbie Perry, whom he loved beyond measure. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, The Fab Four, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Jason was the proud owner of A1 Tax Service, which he bought in 2011 from his mother-in-law, Sue Smith Allen, where he spent years serving his community with honesty, integrity, and genuine care. His commitment to serving others was recognized when he was named a Kentucky Colonel, an honor bestowed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky in recognition of his service, accomplishments, and contributions to his community.
Before his passing, Jason thoughtfully made the decision to sell A1 Tax Service. He was confident that Abby Kloke Nelson would continue the values and exceptional service that he worked so hard to build, ensuring his legacy of caring for others lives on.
He is survived by his loving wife, April Perry; his children, Jake Perry and Abbie Perry; his father, Gene Perry; and his faithful dog, Perdita Perry.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dora Jean Perry; and his dog, Pongo Perry.
Outside of work, Jason enjoyed all things barbecue and was always happy to gather around good food with the people he loved. He was a devoted University of Kentucky basketball fan, rarely missing a game, and never turned down a cold RC Cola. Whether cheering on the Wildcats, smoking meat, playing golf, or simply laughing and spending time with his family, Jason found joy in life's simple moments.
Those who knew Jason will remember his generous heart, quick wit, and willingness to help anyone in need. He lived a life rooted in faith, laughter, hard work, kindness, and love for his family and community.
Though his time with us was far too short, Jason's legacy will continue through the family he loved so deeply, the business he ran and grew with integrity, and the countless lives he touched along the way.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Henderson, Kentucky, on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 3:00–6:00 p.m. and Friday, July 31, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. All services will take place at First Baptist Church in Henderson.
In true Jason fashion, the family invites friends and loved ones to dress comfortably and casually in their favorite golf attire, grilling-themed clothing, or University of Kentucky gear as we celebrate the life of a man who found joy in the things he loved most.
The family thanks you for your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Operation BBQ Relief, an organization that provides freshly prepared meals to communities affected by natural disasters and other crises, a cause that reflects Jason's love of barbecue and serving others. It was one of Jason's dreams to serve with this organization during his retirement. Memorial contributions may also be made to Henderson's First Baptist Church Next Initiative so the word and love of God will continue to be spread for years to come.
