James L. "Jim" Thomas, 90, of Henderson, Kentucky, died at 10:52 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2017, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church where he was active in the Knights of Columbus.  Jim retired from South Central Bell after 30 years.  He was also a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.  He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth "Lib" Thomas, who died April 20, 2015; one son, Richard A. "Rick" Thomas, who died April 8, 2014; and his parents, Roy and Willie Florence Mills Thomas; one sister, Kathleen Phillips; two brothers, Bill Thomas and Frank Thomas.

Survivors include three daughters, Regina Thomas and Debbie Murphy and her husband, Gary, both of Henderson, Kentucky, and Brenda Will and her husband, Rod, of Wadesville, Indiana; three sons, James H. "Porky" and Tammy Thomas of Henderson, Kentucky, Darrell Thomas and his wife, Martha, of Hanson, Kentucky, and Roger Thomas and his wife, Nancy, of Henderson, Kentucky; four sisters, Margaret Bickett, Evelyn Mattingly, Martina Blandford, and Sue Thomas, all of Owensboro, Kentucky; two brothers, Bob Thomas and Raymond Thomas, all of Owensboro, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Melissa Hester, Derek Thomas, Nathan Murphy, Heather Ray, Haley Thomas, Lori Thomas, and Jake Will; four great-grandchildren, Madison Hester, Jaxon Murphy, Hannah Ray, and Colten Ray; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.  Father Larry McBride will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Gary Murphy, Nathan Murphy, Derek Thomas, Rod Will, Jake Will, John Hester, and Andrew Ray.
