Obituary

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life that was full of experiences, we celebrate the life of a treasured Son, Husband, Dad, Papa, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, James Herman Davis, known to most as "Jim".  He was born to the late John Casper Davis and Sarah Hart (Hopkins) Davis on July 10, 1943, in Henderson, Kentucky.  He departed this life on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 3:45 a.m. at the St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, Kentucky.

Jim was a 1961 graduate of Henderson County High School.  He served in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.  On May 13, 1972, he married Teresa Loebe in Henderson, Kentucky.  In 1974, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple on August 1, 1974.  They were married for 54 years.  He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He held many church callings and loved doing family history through family search.  He loved his family, especially the grandchildren and great granddaughter.

He worked at Eaton Corporation, which was bought out by Dana Corporation, for 52 years.  As a Custodial Maintenance worker, he was known as "Big Jim" and had perfect attendance for many years.  In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling to see his children and grandchildren and spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Christine Nicolson (Robert), Robert Wolflin Davis, and Sally Davis Dukes (Greg); his mother-in-law, Hazel Loebe; and his brother-in-law, George White.

Jim is survived by his wife, Teresa Loebe Davis; his daughters, Tricia Reynolds (Chris) and Sarah Justice (Jimmy); Teresa's son, Andy Dillman; grandchildren, Vincent Reynolds, Brittany Justice, Christina Reynolds Sommerfeldt (Alex), and Marshall Justice; great-granddaughter, Sage Sommerfeldt; one brother, Johnny Davis; one sister, Rita Royster (Curt); one sister-in-law, Genevieve White; and many nieces and nephews.
