Ida Mattingly, 93, nurse, educator, wife, and mother, died April 26, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband George Muir Mattingly, Jr.; her parents, Holbert and Mary Slaughter, and her brother, Basil Slaughter.

She is survived by nine children: Mary Ann Woods, children Ann Marie, Jennifer, William, and George; George Muir Mattingly, III, Sharon Mattingly; Basil Mattingly, children, Diana, Patricia, and Eric; Michael Mattingly, children, Michael Muir and Mary Beth; Katherine Barnabee, son Joshua; Martha Baskett, children, Ted, Ida, and Marianne; John Mattingly, and Stephen Mattingly; and sister, Dolores Cheek.

Services will be at noon Friday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Maury Riney will officiate. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and until 11 a.m. Friday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday.
