Frederick Maurice Hargis, 70, of Henderson, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord at 5:51 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2018, at St. Vincent Evansville.

He received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from I.S.U.E.  Freddy was a third generation Master Builder having worked alongside his father and grandfather.  He enjoyed annual ski trips with his family.  Freddy was very much involved in the community and his neighborhood, where the children referred to him as Poppa Freddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Forwood "Buck" Hargis and Anna Lois Konsler Hargis.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Sheila; two sons, Luke Hargis of Indian Shores, Florida, and Slade Hargis and his wife, Katie, of Henderson, Kentucky; two stepsons, David Anderson and his wife, Rachel, of Carmi, Illinois, and Dustin Anderson of Evansville, Indiana; two sisters, Judy Scott and her husband, Ray, of Henderson, Kentucky, and Kathy Niehaus and Jan Happe, of Evansville, Indiana; five brothers, Eugene Hargis and his wife, Diane, of Russellville, Kentucky, Wayne Hargis and his wife, Sherri, of Henderson, Kentucky, Tom Hargis and his wife, Karen, of Louisville, Kentucky, Bob Hargis and his wife, Erna, of Henderson, Kentucky, and Cliff Hargis of Henderson, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Laynie Anderson, Sadie Ann Hargis, Blake Cooper Hargis, Nate River Hargis, and Addie Rose Hargis; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Bob Hargis will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a fund being established for his grandchildren's education.
