Erick Nathaniel Nelson, 43, of Spottsville, Kentucky, went to heaven to join his mother on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 7:12 a.m. after a long illness.

He was born on February 1, 1982, in Henderson, Kentucky, to George and Marcella Nelson.  Erick was a heavy equipment operator.  He enjoyed fishing, nature and animals, and spending time with all his family and friends rocking on the front porch.  Erick's favorite thing to do was to encourage his kids to drive Candi crazy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella Nelson; his favorite uncle, Junior; his grandparents, Herbert and Loretta Nelson and Henry and Julia Cordell; aunts and uncles; and his beloved dog, T-Bone.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Candi; four children, Jayden and her fiancé, Nicholas, Caide, Brystall, and River; his father, George Nelson; two brothers, Lee Nelson and his wife, Kelly, and Dan Nelson and his partner, Gumby; his father and mother-in-law, Paul and Lealda Spainhoward; brothers-in-law, Eddie Bennett and his wife, Katie, Chris Bennett, Zac Spainhoward and his wife, Bre, and Leeton Spainhoward; nieces and nephews, Mitchell Nelson, Michael Nelson, Oston Bennett, Justice Bennett, Mariah Brown, Ethan Brown, Tucker Bennett, Cason Bennett, Isabella Bennett, Sydni Spainhoward, Cayden Latham, and Hunter Spainhoward; his special friends, L.T., Justin and his wife, Amy, Jimmy and Linda and their children, Mary Kate Abercrombie, Jessica Bennett and her daughter, Harlow, Brittany Pullum, and Dusty Woodard.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Family friend Jim McGan will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
