Dorothy
Hendrickson
Oct 5, 1937 — Jan 3, 2025
Henderson
Dorothy Louise (Holder) Hendrickson went to her eternal reward on Friday, January 3, 2025.
Dorothy was born to Wm. Everett and Lela (nee Millikan) Holder on October 5, 1937, in Morganfield, KY, where she went to grade school and high school and made many lifelong friends.
Dorothy was a hairdresser by trade and in this role served as a counselor, mentor, sounding board and friend.
Dorothy was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Henderson where she was a member of the ladies Sunday School class, the XYZ group, and the Homemakers. Dorothy was a woman of deep faith and would encourage anyone who did not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior to please seek His love and find comfort in His arms.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Holder, her nephew Tony Holder, her special aunt Mary Griffin, and her beloved husband Jerry.
She is survived by her sons, Scott and Kevin (Paula) Hendrickson, all of Evansville; her niece, Cindy (Brad) Howton of Morganfield; her nephew's widow, Becky Holder and children of Owensboro; her sister-in-law, Rebecca Miller and her husband, Norman, and children and grandchildren, John, Matthew (Keth), Cody and Kayley. She is also survived by bonus grandchildren, Alyssa Schutte Cooley (Sean and Corson), Kendra Reynolds and Khloe, and Jada Cullum (Cole Seaver and Karlee). Also surviving are special cousins, Deborah Thompson and her family of Oceanside, CA, and Michael Griffin and his family of Lindale, TX. Of most importance to Dorothy, she is survived by her precious granddaughter, Marissa Hendrickson (Trevor Fulton) and Quentin. Dorothy was also blessed to spend 18 months with the brightest light of her life, her great grandson Syrus Xander Fulton, her smiley boy.
Although saddened by her passing, her loved ones rejoice in the assurance that she is at peace and in the presence of God, to whom belongs all the glory and honor.
There is no doubt that upon arriving at the gates of Heaven, Dorothy was welcomed into the loving arms of Christ, with a heartfelt "well done, my good and faithful servant."
A celebration of life will be held at Zion Baptist Church, 8158 HWY 351 East, Henderson, KY 42420 at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025. Friends may visit with family from 10:00 until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions in Dorothy's memory be made to Zion Baptist Church. Please indicate "Dorothy Hendrickson" on the memo line.
