Doris J. Wilt McCormack, 98, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 20, 2016, at her home.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Henderson Homemakers, and Henderson Garden Club.  Doris enjoyed playing Bridge and volunteering as a poll worker during elections.  She also enjoyed needlepoint and embroidery, doing crossword puzzles, antiquing, gardening, and bird watching.  She was an avid baseball fan with her favorite teams being St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees and she loved cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting and cheering events.  Doris was always up for a road trip whether to downtown Henderson or across the country.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.V. McCormack; her son, Jay Allen McCormack; her daughter, Jody McCormack Whitmer; her parents, Imogene and Homer Wilt; and two brothers, Homer Wilt, Jr., and Charles Wilt.

Survivors include two daughters, Beth McCormack of Frisco, Texas, and Suzy McCormack (Rodney Horn) of Henderson, Kentucky; her son-in-law, John W. Whitmer of Evansville, Indiana; five grandchildren, John Randall McCormack (Caroline), Mark J. McCormack (Becky), Angie Imburgia (David), all of Virginia, Carly Whitmer (Michael Parker) of Louisville, and Stacy Laubichler (Gottfried) of Dallas; five great-grandchildren, Ella, Kate, Cooper, Brady, and Kendall; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, Indiana.
