Obituary

Debra Sue "Debbie" Wedding Gutsch, 69, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her husband and family on Monday, February 21, 2022.

Debra was born to Dorothy "Midge" and Maurice Wedding on March 13, 1952.

Debra grew up in Henderson, Kentucky, with her three older siblings, mom, dad, and large extended family and graduated from City High School in 1970.

In 1984, Debra married the love of her life, Donald Gutsch, and they then set off on a lifetime adventure across the United States, living and working in some of the most beautiful places in our country such as Hawaii, California, and Texas.  Throughout their travels, Deb and Don maintained a beautiful home on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Georgia, where they hosted and entertained countless family and friends before finally retiring to Clearwater, Florida, to be nearer to the beach, a favorite place of both.

Throughout her career, Debra worked as a professional business administrator and manager in numerous organizations until she retired from CES in Atlanta, Georgia.

Debra was known for her love of the Beatles, dancing, and amazing cooking skills.  Always positive, Debra courageously faced and overcame many challenges.  Her strength and courage served as an example for others and as a refuge for her loved ones when life was uncertain or hard.  As a wife, daughter, sister, cousin, step-mother, and grandmother, as well as one of the world's best aunts, Debra offered unconditional love to all and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy "Midge" Wedding; her father, Maurice Wedding; her sister, Mary Ann Wedding; and her stepson Donald Gutsch, Jr.

Debra is survived by her husband Donald Gutsch; two stepchildren, Courtney Gutsch and Kelly Gutsch Thornton; one brother, Larry (Suzanne) Wedding; two sisters, Phyllis (Larry Joe) Bumpus and Gwendolyn (Janie) Williams; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
