David F. Osborne, 80, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at The Heartford House in Owensboro, Kentucky.

He was born in Daviess County, Kentucky, on June 20, 1936, to the late Thomas Collier Osborne and Paulette Hamilton Osborne.

He was a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and Brescia College (University).  David taught school in Huntingburg, Indiana, Louisville, Kentucky, and Denver, Colorado.  He also was a world traveler and avid reader.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Walton "Wally" Osborne, Thomas Dixon Osborne, James Marion "Buddy" Osborne, and George Earl Osborne; and three sisters, Delphine Osborne, Catherine Osborne Bosley, and Lucille Osborne Tong.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Joseph Osborne and Joel David Osborne, both of Owensboro, Kentucky; his ex-wife, Anita Carpenter Osborne of Owensboro, Kentucky; one brother, Albert Osborne and his wife, Mary, of Escondido, California; three sisters-in-law, Marilyn Norris Osborne and Patty Hayden Osborne, both of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Jean Clark Osborne of Santa Ana, California; many nieces and nephews; and his caregiver, Tim Booker of Owensboro, Kentucky.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

There will be no visitation.

Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home in Henderson, Kentucky, is in charge of arrangements.
