Carol Strother Oakley, 75, of Henderson, Kentucky, died Sunday, November 3, 2024, at her home.

Always willing to offer an honest opinion and loveable wit, Carol made an impression on many.  She was an elementary school teacher for many years, teaching at Smith Mills Elementary and Central Elementary schools until her retirement.  She spent many summers at the lake with Bill, and enjoyed reading, arts & crafts, and spending time with her beloved and life-long friends and her dog, Camee.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. John and Emma Strother; her husband, William "Bill" Oakley; and stepdaughter, Amy Badham.

She is survived by her son, Matthew Wayne Dossett and his wife, Stephanie; her brother, John Strother and his wife Alma; her stepson, Bill Oakley; along with several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Per Carol's wishes, there will be no service.

Family and friends would like offer a special acknowledgement to St Anthony's Hospice who provided exceptional care and support.
