Carl D. Melton, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Henderson, Kentucky, died at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Baptist Health Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky.

He retired from the office of Henderson Circuit Judge after 21 years of service. He held public office in Henderson County continuously for 37 years, first as State Representative and thereafter as County Attorney, Commonwealth Attorney, and Circuit Judge. Carl was also a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; two children, Mara Melton and John Melton and his wife, Michelle; two grandchildren, Evan and Erin Melton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military rites performed by American Legion Worsham Post No. 40.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
