It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bart Vowels, who peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the age of 46, in his home in Jacksonville, FL.

Bart was born to Birdie and Judy Vowels and was a beloved brother to Chris Vowels and his wife Kaci.  He also leaves behind his cherished bride of almost fifteen years, Courtney Vowels.  Bart was also a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews: Claire and Cooper Vowels, Bella, Sydney, Louis, Finley, and Albert Cunningham, and Parker, Emma, and Aubrey Buchanan.  He was a dear brother-in-law to Ann Cunningham (Chris) and Adam Buchanan (Jacque).

Bart was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Douglas and Mary Helen Vowels and Jacob Siewert, Jr., and Joyce Eleanor Siewert.

A distinguished scholar, Bart graduated as valedictorian from Henderson County High School in 1996 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in business management from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2000.  During his time in college, Bart excelled both academically and athletically, playing college baseball and golf.  His academic and athletic achievements were a source of pride and a testament to his dedication and talent.

Bart was known for his vibrant love of life and his diverse interests.  He was an avid golfer and an enthusiastic traveler, with notable vacations to Boston, Steamboat Springs, and San Diego.  He enjoyed watching horse racing and was a loyal fan of the Braves, rarely missing a chance to attend live sporting events.

Bart's legacy is also celebrated through his extensive family connections.  He is survived by 36 first cousins, including 31 from the Vowels side of the family, with whom he shared many cherished memories.

Bart's warm spirit, keen mind, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

A ceremony will be held to honor Bart's life at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at One Life Church in Henderson, KY.  Mark Weaver and Heath Farmer will officiate.  Private family burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at One Life Church.

Pallbearers will be Chris Vowels, Cooper Vowels, Adam Buchanan, Chris Cunningham, Zach Kanipe, Matt Sellers, Jason Siewert, and David Jenkins.

The honorary pallbearers will be Chad Buckman (Paul) and Todd Satterfield (Shane).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to PurpleStride Jacksonville, an organization Bart supported dearly, or the BartStrong Fund.  Envelopes will be available at visitation.

Braves attire or the color purple is welcome.
