Annie Jean Mayo (née McLaurin), 85, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023.

She was born on December 6, 1937, in De Kalb, Mississippi.  Annie Jean was a loving mother and grandmother revered for her larger-than-life garden she kept with her husband, Clifford, whom she married in 1957.  She was a voracious reader, a skilled basketball player, and eclectic in many regards.  No visitor would ever leave Nannie's without a variety of treats or gifts, and this legacy of generosity will be carried on in her memory.

Annie Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Gerald Mayo.

Survivors include four children, Allen Mayo, Sue Floyd, Jerry Mayo, and Sherri Liechhardt; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were privately held Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Burial was in Fairmont Cemetery.
