Alene Knight, 94, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was a very compassionate and caring person who loved animals and children very much.  She was a member of Haven Pentecostal Church for more than 40 years, and she loved the Lord with all her heart, living her life praising him through all she did.  She was also a Sunday school teacher for more than 30 years naming her class the "Busy Bees."

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Wesley Knight, who died March 30, 2003; two sons, Calvin Williams, who died February 1998, and Wayne Williams, who died November 2003; her parents, George Leonard and Annie Mae VanHooser Williams; and all of her 15 siblings.

Survivors include three children, her caregiver for the last 15 years, Janice Knight (Diane Kee) of Henderson, Kentucky, Ralph Knight (Kay Vanover Knight) of Smith Mills, Kentucky, and Stoney Knight (Sherri Altmeyer Knight) of Henderson, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Melanie Gerton (Barry Gerton) whom Alene and Wesley raised as their own, David Williams, Shannon Goin, Eric Knight, Jamie Knight, Jim Barth, Mark Knight, Chad Knight, and Brad Knight; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Reverend Ernie Lingerfelt will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mark Knight, Eric Knight, Blake Knight, Chad Knight, Barry Gerton, and Frankie Nally.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Knight, Preston Knight, Aiden McHatton, and Mason McHatton.
