Agnes Cates Hicks, 92, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Redbanks Nursing Home.

Agnes was born February 14, 1930, in Henderson to Howard and Jewell Cates.   She loved to shop and thought Black Friday was for amateurs.  She was a member of Airline Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Vicky Sawyer; two sisters, Bettie Bowling and Ruth Duncan; and two brothers, D. T. Cates and Curtis Cates.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, William (Bill) Hicks; her daughter, Sharon Phillips (Jimmy); four grandchildren, Joey Sawyer, Melissa Nantz, Laura Phillips, and Sam Phillips; her son-in-law, Henry Sawyer; cousins; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  The Reverend Nathan Whisnant will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
